Arun and Alok Lalwani, two brothers who are admirers of good art and architecture, fell in love with a 130-year-old villa in the quaint village of Parra in North Goa. The property ” Amger” came with two wells, a small chapel, and a gigantic mango tree. The brothers entrusted the renovation of the villa to architect Supriya Gandhi of the Workshop Architects and restoration expert Ketak Nachinolkar.
The architects took great care to preserve the original character of the villa while also updating it to meet modern standards. They retained the traditional Portuguese-style architecture, with its elegant arches and subtle cohesion of colors. They also added large floor-to-ceiling glass windows to bring in more natural light.
The interior of the villa is a celebration of art and heritage. The walls are adorned with a collection of paintings, sculptures, and textiles from India and around the world. The furniture is a mix of traditional and modern pieces, all of which have been carefully chosen to complement the overall aesthetic.
The villa is a welcoming home for the Lalwanis and their guests. It is a place where they can relax and enjoy the beauty of Goa’s natural surroundings. It is also a place where they can appreciate the art and culture of India.
“Amger” is a truly special place, and it is a testament to the brothers’ vision and commitment.
