This Villa in a Beach Garden is a stunning example of how design can transform a neglected property into a modern, luxurious and sustainable home. The architects at Architecture BRIO took on the challenge of transforming this outdated and neglected house into a beachfront villa that would make the most of its stunning location.
The first and most important intervention was to lift the garden up 5 feet above the existing level, such that the house, the garden and the top of the boundary wall, were all aligned in one level. This created a seamless connection between the house and the outdoors, and allowed for uninterrupted views of the ocean.
The new house is built using a combination of concrete, brick and timber, with large windows and sliding doors that open up to the garden and pool. The interiors are light and airy, with a neutral color scheme that is offset by pops of color from the artwork and furnishings. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, and the living room is perfect for entertaining guests.
The house also features a number of sustainable design elements, including rainwater harvesting, solar panels and a green roof. These elements help to reduce the house’s environmental impact and make it a more comfortable and sustainable home for its occupants.
