Mumbai-based architecture firm Studio Grid has transformed an Alibaug penthouse into a modern take on Japanese minimalism. The client’s brief was to create a calm, soothing, clutter-free space, and the architects have succeeded in creating a minimalist haven with a uniquely earthy ambience.

The penthouse looks out to the sea from one side and towards the mountains on the other. The material palette is all natural materials, from travertine marble and teak wood to bamboo. The furniture of the tea garden is designed to be easily movable, so that the space can be rearranged to become one with the formal living room when required.

The result is a space that is both peaceful and inviting. The natural materials and the simple lines create a sense of calm, while the views of the sea and the mountains provide a sense of serenity. The furniture is comfortable and inviting, and the overall effect is one of a space that is both stylish and relaxing.

This penthouse is a perfect example of how Japanese minimalism can be adapted to create a modern and stylish space. The architects have used natural materials and simple lines to create a space that is both calming and inviting. The result is a home that is perfect for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
